🥩 Ingredient notes
- Pork chops - I prefer using thick cut bone in pork chops for grilling. They hold up really well on the grill and stay tender and juicy. Boneless pork chops or thinner cuts may be used, however cooking times will be shorter.
- Alabama white sauce - Also known as white bbq sauce, this mayonnaise based barbecue sauce originated in northern Alabama. It's a little bit sweet, tangy, and goes excellent on pork or chicken.
📋 Substitutions and variations
- Traditional BBQ - Not a fan of Alabama white sauce? Slather these grilled pork chops in your favorite traditional barbecue sauce the last couple of minutes of cooking on the grill.
- Spicy - A one Tablespoon of hot sauce to your alabama white sauce instead of a teaspoon for a spicier white bbq sauce.

🥘 Alternative cooking methods
If cooking outside on the grill is not an option, these pork chops can be cooked inside on a grill pan or in a cast iron skillet. Preheat the pan on the stovetop on medium high heat and cook for 6-8 minutes on each side until cooked to an internal temperature of 145˚.
🥡 Storage suggestions
Alabama white sauce will keep in the refrigerator when stored in an airtight container for up to 5 days and can be made ahead of time if needed.

Mr. Mike
First off half the reviews are from people who havenโt even made it. How can you rate something 5 stars and not try it. Just dumb. With that I will say this was tasty. A little to thin for my liking and no where as thick as any BBQ sauce, so Iโm going to mess with ways to thicken without sacrificing flavor.
Amanda
Hi Mike! Thanks for trying the recipe, it's one of my favorites to make during Summer. White BBQ is not supposed to be thick, it's a thinner BBQ sauce like a carolina style BBQ sauce. If you prefer it to be thicker, I would try mixing a little bit of cornstarch with water to make a slurry and then mix that into the sauce. I would start a teaspoon of cornstarch and 2 teaspoons of water and see if that is more to your liking. Then, you can always add more. That should help thicken the sauce without sacrificing the flavor too much. Enjoy!

They sound great! Any rice side dish recipe ideas?
Amanda
Thank you so much! I don't have any rice side dishes right now, but i will make sure get some going to add! I have a few potato side dishes that would be great!
