ITALIAN GRAVY RECIPE

DRIED OREGANO

2 - 28 oz cans each:

TOMaTO  PASTE

 - whole peeled tomatoes

DRIED PARSLEY

Ingredients

BEEF BONE

CHOPPED ONION

MINCED GARLIC

1 1/2 c

red wine

2 qts

BEEF BROTH

 - crushed tomatoes

 - tomato puree

Step 1

Saute the beef bone in olive oil in a large pot until browned.   Add in the garlic, dried herbs and tomato paste and cook for another 1-2 minutes.

Pour in the red wine and scrape the bottom of the pan for any stuck on bits.   Add in the beef broth and all of the tomatoes

Step 3

Simmer the sauce for a minimum of 1 hour or 4-6 hours if you can. Stir the sauce every 30 minutes. Remove the beef bone and blend to the desired consistency.

Great to use for  homemade pizza...

For sauce for pasta...

Eggplant parmesan...

...Braciole or other  Italian dishes!
